10 Tips for Dusting like a Pro
1. Microfiber Cloths
They actually attract dust and are super absorbent, so you can get more out of each cloth. When I’m cleaning, I lightly dampen the cloth, but not enough that it’s wet because dust will then stick to surfaces. They dry pretty quickly, so you can use them over and over during the course of one house cleaning if you rinse and wring them out. Once you’re done, throw them in the wash and voila, good as new.
2. Top-to-Bottom Dusting
This is a no-brainer, but don’t let that antique shelf you’ve been ignoring catch your attention before you dust the ceiling fans or the top of that shelf first. All of your precious dusting work will be undone if you don’t adopt this top-to-bottom cleaning strategy.
3. Surfaces High and Hard to Reach + Light Fixtures
When it comes to house cleaning, if you need a ladder to reach it you’re less likely to clean it. With that said, keeping a regular dusting schedule for hard-to-reach surfaces is so important for keeping your house dust free.
